Two new dispensers will limit the nuisance even more and keep the pigeon population under control
On the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwvoorplein in Laken and on the roof of a school in the Anneessens neighbourhood, two new dispensers were placed with corn kernels for pigeons. In this way, the City of Brussels wants to keep the population and the nuisance under control. At the same time, Laken wants to call upon its inhabitants to stop feeding the pigeons.
Laken began with pigeon contraception as an experiment in February 2020, with one dispenser on the Clementina square. More than a year later, in March 2021, this number had already been reduced to 130 - a reduction of almost 1/3.
