Pilot project in Liege

Pigeons on the pill!

The City of Liege has launched a pilot project with Vets For City Pigeons. With this initiative, the municipality aims to respond to residents' complaints regarding pigeon nuisance: material damage due to biting droppings, health risks, odour nuisance and noise pollution.

In the city centre, Place Saint-Lambert and Boulevard d'Avroy are the 2 locations with the most pigeons. Based on the number of pigeons counted and residents affected, a dispenser on Boulevard d'Avroy was chosen for this first phase.

For this project to be successful, the pigeons are not allowed to be fed. An essential element in tackling pigeon nuisance! The city is launching an information campaign for this purpose. After a trial period, there will be a police enforcement phase to ensure the success of this pilot project.
