Two years after start-up, the pigeon population in the village centre has decreased by half
Aartselaar started birth control in spring 2021 because of persistent pigeon nuisance in the centre. With this, it was the first town in the Antwerp region to opt for Vets For City Pigeons' animal-friendly control policy. Now, two years later, the pigeon population has been halved, with a satisfied city council as a result.
