The city of Genk wants to keep its pigeon population under control and therefore relies on the animal-friendly approach of Vets For City Pigeons. On the most critical places in town, where the nuisance is the greatest, food dispensers with contraceptive corn will be placed. In this way, the population of city pigeons will gradually and organically decrease, and the nuisance will decrease as a result.
This makes Genk the 5th location in the province of Limburg after Tongeren, Hasselt, Diepenbeek and Borgloon.
