The Flemish Animal Welfare Council issued an advisory report for managing pigeon populations in urban environments. It consists of a five-part action plan to keep populations under control. Vets For City Pigeons is the only provider on the market to offer support to towns and cities for all five actions points, and guarantees a total solution for pigeon control problems.
The pigeon population in Tongeren has fallen by 28.4% since the start of the treatment with R-12 six months ago. Tongeren is the first city in the Benelux region to feed its urban pigeons R-12.
Following the use of contraceptive feed in the city of Tongeren, GAIA called on other towns and cities to follow this example. It’s an efficient, animal-friendly and selective method that avoids cruel gasification, according to GAIA.
